I WISH YOU WELL
We welcome you to visit the website of the Housing Policy Department, the implementing agency of the Capital Governor.
Ulaanbaatar, the social and economic center of Mongolia, is expanding day by day. Currently, about 53% of the capital city’s 1.5 million people live in comfortable housing, while the remaining 47% live in slums that do not meet international standards and lack basic engineering and social infrastructure such as water supply, sewerage, and heating.
58.2 percent of Ulaanbaatar’s land area will be occupied by residential areas, and it has reached an area of about 23 hectares due to unplanned expansion. Of this, 23.9 percent belong to the central area close to the centralized engineering infrastructure supply, 28.8 percent to the middle area that is far from the centralized infrastructure supply and can be connected to the partial engineering infrastructure supply, and more than 50 percent belongs to the suburban area that cannot be connected to the centralized infrastructure supply.
The growth of residential areas is one of the major problems facing the people of Ulaanbaatar, which leads to increased air and soil pollution and the violation of citizens’ right to live in a healthy and safe environment.
In accordance with the requirements of implementing housing projects and programs quickly, realistically and effectively, increasing and expanding the provision of engineering infrastructure in Ulaanbaatar, and taking comprehensive measures to bring it to a new level of development, the team of our organization will make the home neighborhoods of the capital city socio-economic, ecological and cultural. We have put forward the mission and goals of creating a residential area to ensure sustainable development of education and have achieved practical results.
As part of the projects of re-planning and building and reorganizing housing estates in the capital city, 3,136 households were cleared, 17,984 apartments were put into operation in the central area, and the central infrastructure project was implemented in three locations to connect the infrastructure supply to households in the housing estates in the central area. implemented and connected 600 households. Also, the Law on Reducing Traffic Congestion and Housing Housing in the Capital City of Ulaanbaatar, approved in 2023, has established a legal framework that regulates the housing development activities in the sub-center by defining the necessary needs of the society in detail.
In the future, we would like to express our sincere greetings to you on behalf of our community, expressing that we will provide cooperation between citizens, the government, and the private sector in the re-planning and development of the residential area of Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Ulaanbaatar.
