The output of TPP-5 is expected to be 340 GWh of heat and 300 MW of electricity
The TPP-5 thermal power plant, one of the 24 megaprojects to build Ulaanbaatar, will be built in Khoroo No. 20 in Bayangol District, with an installed capacity of 340 Gcal of heat and 300 MW of electricity. The plant will be developed in an environmentally responsible manner, with land, coal, and water sources all in one location. The TPP-5 facility’s overall layout includes preliminary plans for the main workshop, administration, electrical substation, coal unloading area, ash storage and loading equipment, and plant expansion sections.
The TPP-5 station will supply heat to Tavan Shar, District 21, Khilchin town, Bayankhoshuu, Districts 3 and 4, and District 1.
The advantage of the project:
- A total of 340 Gcal of heat and 300 MW of power will be generated to suit the needs of Ulaanbaatar. The amount of imported electricity will be lowered.
- Citizens will have reliable and consistent electricity and heat, and their living conditions will improve.
- Reduce air pollution.
- Increase power system capacity and stability.
- Removes 99 percent of hazardous gasses found in smoking.
