The installation of the new bridge piers on the Zaisan Bridge is 40 percent complete

Starting from January 10, 2025, the old Zaisan bridge in the Khan-Uul district was closed and started to be dismantled from March 7, following the completion of necessary sewer connections to the new bridge. While the old bridge was being dismantled, the installation of the new bridge piers was also being carried out, and as of today, the work is 40 percent complete. The piers are being installed 17 meters below ground level.

In addition, the preparation and transportation of the beams is 95 percent complete. The reinforcement for the foundation has been prepared since winter, so the work is 100 percent complete. The new bridge will be put into operation in June. The old Zaisan bridge, built in 1968, has not undergone any major renovation since. Its condition has fallen below a service level rating of D, indicating an urgent need for replacement. After dismantling, the old bridge will be rebuilt to match the newly constructed structure on the west side, ensuring improved capacity and safety for drivers.
