B. Amarmend: The Booroljut station is 100 percent complying with the procedures and orders of the National Dispatch Center

For the first time, Ulaanbaatar traded 500 billion tugrik bonds in the domestic market and invested 300 billion tugriks of the bonds in the Booroljut power plant. As part of this effort, bonds were issued in the domestic market for the first time, and the first 150 MW unit of the 600 MW Boroljuut power plant project was commissioned last October. It was connected to the central region’s integrated power grid in December. As a result, the first phase of the Boroljuut power plant is supplying 150 MW of electricity to the central system. Since then, operations have been successful, and construction work is continuing on Unit II of the plant, which will also have a capacity of 150 MW, with a view to commissioning it in 2025.

The director of the Booroljut power plant, B. Amarmend, provided clarification on the operation of the first unit of the 150 MW plant. He stated, “The Booroljut power station is 100 percent fulfilling the electricity orders issued by the National Dispatch Center and supplying them to the central regional integrated system. In recent days, it has been supplying an average of about 130 MW of capacity per day, and the total order for February has been 100 percent fulfilled. It is also possible to increase capacity if necessary.”
